An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 26 of May, repeating indefinitely
The United Nations recognizes this day to condemn torture as one of the vilest acts humans can commit on fellow humans. Torture, as well as cruel, degrading, and inhumane treatment, is a crime under international law and denies inherent human dignity, yet it persists in all regions of the world. Today is a day to support organizations focused on aiding victims of torture and their families.
