An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 23 of May, repeating indefinitely
Obstetric Fistula is one of the most tragic injuries that can occur during childbirth, yet it is preventable and treatable. Most cases occur among women living in poverty, who are giving birth at younger ages and without timely access to obstetric care. This day is to raise awareness that health care systems are failing to meet women’s needs for obstetric care.
