An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 14 of April, repeating indefinitely
The World Health Organization wishes for this day to help raise awareness for neglected tropical diseases, such as Chagas, which can be transmitted by contaminated food, blood, and several other methods and can become fatal if not treated. These diseases have disproportionate effects on impoverished communities, especially poor, rural groups with little political voice or health care.
