An event every year that begins at 12:00 am on day 15 of June, repeating indefinitely
The United Nations designated this World Day to bring attention to the high rates of abuse experienced by older people, especially those living in institutions. Elder abuse is a global social issue that even though it greatly affects the health and human rights of millions of people globally is one of the least investigated types of violence. Today is a day to remember that elders deserve the attention of the international community.
